You are obliged to take out basic Dutch health insurance if you stay in the Netherlands for an extended period of time. Children of 17 years and under are free of charge co-insured. You won't find expensive supplementary packages here; instead, we offer three affordable options for the most frequently used care: physiotherapy (Bewuzt Fysio), dental (Bewuzt Tand), care abroad (Bewuzt Buitenland) and alternative care (Bewuzt Alternatief). Each option offers you the choice between 'Good' and 'Better'. This way, you pay only for the care that you really think you will need. You may visit most healthcare providers in the Netherlands, including dentists and physiotherapists. For a small number of operations you are obliged to go to the hospitals that meet our highest criteria. This way you can be sure you are getting the best care. If you still decide yo go to a different care provider, 70% of the costs will be reimbursed (based on the average contracted fee).
